The League of Women Voters presents a program on Fixing California’s Finances on Monday, September 12. Mark Paul, co-author of "California Crackup: How Reform Broke the Golden State and How We Can Fix It," will discuss the historical reasons for the state's political and fiscal problems and suggest innovative solutions. The program begins with networking at 6:30 pm, and the discussion begins at 7 pm at the Fremont Congregational Church, 38255 Blacow Road, Fremont.

Mark Paul has served as deputy treasurer of California and national editor of the Oakland Tribune. He is currently a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley's Institute of Governmental Studies.
