History of FAME
The Fisheries and Marine Ecosystems (FAME) Network is an association of graduate students interested in a variety of aspects of fisheries, marine and nearshore ecosystems and the organisms that inhabit them. This years6th Annual Graduate Student Conference will provide a forum for graduate students to share research, network with peers, and discuss prominent issues in marine and freshwater fisheries and ecosystems.

Conference details
This year's FAME conference will take place at Camp Alexandra located in Crescent Beach, British Columbia (~ 30 minutes south of Vancouver and ~20 minutes from the US border). The goal of the conference is to bring together graduate students to present and discuss their research and research ideas pertaining to fisheries and aquatic ecosystems. Any currently enrolled graduate student may register to attend and present. Presentations or posters can come from any field or specialty relating to freshwater and marine fisheries and ecosystems including ecology, law, social sciences, biology, public policy, economics, etc.
The conference will start at 5:00pm on Friday, April 17. We will have a Friday evening social during registration where light snacks and beverages will be provided. Presentations will begin on Saturday, April 18 following the plenary talk (the plenary speaker is TBD) and the conference will officially end after lunch on Sunday, April 19. Abstract submission deadline and instructions
Abstracts submitted by 5:00PM PST on Friday, February 27,2009 will be considered for oral or poster presentations. Please submit abstracts by email to [email protected] and indicate your preference for an oral presentation or poster presentation. Acceptance notifications will be sent by Monday, March 2, 2009.
Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words. Please include the title of your presentation, first author's name (and the names of any co-authors), as well as your university affiliation and email adress.

Registration deadline
Registration will close at midnight on March 14, 2008.
