First Weekend Club Presents “Canada Screens Toronto: Reel Injun” - Director Neil Diamond in Attendance November 14, 2010

In conjunction with the DVD Club, First Weekend Club is bringing back their Canada Screens Series in Toronto with the award winning Documentary Reel Injun.

Join us Sunday Nov 14th for a wine reception, screening, and TalkBack with special guests including filmmaker Neil Diamond, actor/producer extraordinaire Jennifer Podemski and award-winning actor/filmmaker Michelle Latimer.



Reel Injun traces the evolution of cinema’s depiction of Native people from the silent film era to today, with clips from hundreds of classic and recent Hollywood movies, and candid interviews with celebrated Native and non-Native film celebrities, activists, film critics and historians.



FWC is also thrilled to be screening the Nunavut Animation Lab short film The Bear Facts by Jonathan Wright. Come join us for a glass of wine and help us celebrate some fantastic, home-grown filmmaking talent.



DATE: Sunday Nov 14th



TIME: Wine reception starts at 1pm - ticket includes complimentary glass of wine. Screening to start at 2pm with TalkBack to follow. Special guests TBA.
