Event Details:
HOW IT WORKS
1) Register as a participant (Runner or Walker) by following the link above, fill out required information, and pay the registration fee ($25 for adults, $10 for children under 12) which helps facilitate the event and cover associated costs. Same day registration is available on site for $40 for adults and $15 for children.
2) Once you have registered, go out and get sponsors! Their donations will directly benefit Camp HOPE. You will receive an email with a link so that you may direct your family, friends, and associates to make a donation to Camp HOPE easily online (cash and checks are also accepted and should be turned in at sign-in). We ask that each participant raise a minimum of $50 in sponsorships so that we may reach our goal of giving $10,000 to this worthy cause.
3) Get a Tutu! You may pre-order one from this site and pick it up during sign-in, or bring your own. While wearing a tutu is not required, it is encouraged--both for the sake of fun and increased visibility.
4) Meet at Brian O'Neill's Pub at 5555 Morningside Drive on March 26th. Sign-in and T-shirt pickup is from 8am-9:50am. Runners will begin the 5k at 10 am, and walkers will begin shortly afterward. NOTE: There is a significantly shortened route for those with small children or any who are unable to complete a 5k. This will be clearly marked.
5) Have a fabulously fun run/walk, and meet us back at Brian O'Neill's for a live music, food, drinks, dance performances, and other entertainment! This after party is open to the public, and we encourage you to invite friends and family of all ages to come and enjoy a great time in the heart of Rice Village.

ABOUT CAMP HOPE
In July of 1996, AIDS Foundation of HOUSTON launched Camp HOPE, the first summer camp designed specifically for children ages 7-15 with HIV/AIDS in Texas. Participants now include youth from San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth, Galveston, Austin, and other Texas cities as well as from other states. Since its inaugural year, the camp has expanded from a three-day summer pilot program to a full-week program that has served 1,039 participants over the last ten years.

In January 2005, AFH implemented Camp Hope in Africa. Entitled camp Tsholofelo (pronounced SO-Low-FEH-Low), which is Setswana for Hope, the camp program serves 60 HIV-positive children from Botswana, Africa annually. AFH also initiated camps programs in Romania: Camp Hope - Flower House for 10 orphaned youth living with HIV/AIDS, and Camp Hope - Romania for 24 youth with HIV/AIDS receiving treatment at a health clinic in Constanta, Romania.

ABOUT HOUSTON CITY DANCE
Sixteen years ago, Sherese Campbell endeavored to create a dance company capable of embodying her ambitious and eclectic artistic vision. Committed to forming a company that would reflect her own experiences, as well as the diverse lives of its dancers, Ms. Campbell combined the principles of her artistic training with a personal goal to positively affect social change. In 1994, Ms. Campbell established City Dance, Inc. bringing together dancers from a myriad of ethnic and cultural backgrounds from the city of Houston; her dream of a multi-ethnic, socially conscious and artistically vibrant company became a reality. The school boasts an internationally diverse body of students and alumni, with dancers hailing from Russia, China, Japan, Hungary, India, Nigeria, Mexico, Germany, and Italy, as well as various Houston neighborhoods. Ms. Campbell's commitment to dance education and instruction is evident in City Dance's comprehensive class schedule, featuring an array of ballet, jazz, modern, tap, break-dancing, and hip-hop offerings that cater to students of all ages and ability levels.

Above all else, Houston City Dance is known for its commitment to nurturing artists of all ages and reaching out to the community in numerous ways. This event is a direct reflection of City Dance's mission of blending artistry with service and responsibility.
