Citing Bob Dylan and Neil Young as influences, 26-year-old Irish singer-songwriter Fionn Regan is a master of simple folk songs that focus on his soft voice and softer guitar sound. Regan was raised in a family of musicians, who instilled in him a love of early folk and blues that continues to pervade his music.

After a pair of independently released EPs, Regan signed a label deal and released The End of History in the U.K. last summer. Widely praised for its use of Regan's poetic lyrics and considerable fingerpicking skills, the disc helped make him one of the U.K.'s top new artists. The buzz eventually made its way across the Atlantic, and The End of History was released in the U.S. over the summer. Regan recently sat down to discuss how his style changes when he plays solo, as well as his recent nomination for the Mercury Music Prize in the U.K. - npr.org
