Filme im Februar Film Series: A Month-Long Exploration of German Film

From 1920s German expressionist film such as The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari to the Nazi anti-Semitic propaganda of The Eternal Jew, from postwar film such as The Murderers are Among Us to modern day attempts at understanding a horrific past in Downfall, to finally finding optimism in the present and future in The Princess and the Warrior, German filmmaking encompasses the history and emotions of a country with a tumultuous past, and has come full circle in its exploration of its past, present and future. Includes lectures by Prof. Linda Schulte-Sasse of Macalester College and Prof. Kirk Allison of the University of Minnesota.
