Background
=========
During the last 3 years, proud and largely immigrant farmers made international news in their struggle for 14-acre farm in the midst of south central L.A.’s warehouse-covered city. Supporters and celebrities like Daryl Hannah, Joan Baez, Martin Sheen, Tom Hayden, Tom Morello, ZAck de la Rocha, and many others, traveled from far and wide to take part in protecting this valuable resource that brought food and nourishment to over 350 families, a safe, gun- and gang-free play area for their children to play in, and a cultural resource that held seeds, plants and rituals that have been passed down for generations.
Join us as we watch a film documenting the struggle for the farm and as we welcome several of the youth and long-time farmers to Santa Ana to hear their strength and share reflections from the struggle.
