Learn the intricacies of being a production assistant for film, television and commercials from industry expert Shayne Sawyer. Topics include set etiquette and protocol, tools of the trade, call sheets, production reports, petty cash, wrangling talent, signage, the proper use of set equipment, the basic union rules and regulations, and who’s who and what do they do.

Originally from Los Angeles, Shayne has produced commercials, videos, documentaries and movies for the American and European markets, filming throughout the US, Canada and Europe for over 25 years. Her expertise covers all facets of production, from project analysis to budgeting, location filming, management of technical, operational and personnel challenges, talent negotiations, Union compliance, post production initiation and final cost actualization. Now residing and working in New Mexico, Shayne brings to the class an insight into the production process that has taken many years to acquire.

This course runs for 4 sessions starting March 24, 2011, ending April 14, 2011 on Thursdays from 6-9pm. Tuition is $199.
