The two-part epic Mesrine charts the remarkable 20-year crime spree of Jacques Mesrine, a ruthless gangster who became France's most notorious criminal. We begin as Mesrine (the charismatic Vincent Cassel) returns from the Algerian War and falls in with the local crime boss (Gerard Depardieu). Mesrine inhabits the role of gangster like he was born into it and kidnaps millionaires and robs banks two at a time. After pulling off an audacious heist, Mesrine flees to Canada for one big payout that could propel him toward international notoriety.
