Award-winning director Gerhard Friedl was born 1967 in Bad Aussee, Austria.
He studied cinematography at the Film Academy in Munich. A director of photography and author he also lectures on contemporary documentary film.
In 1997 His film Knittelfeld – Stadt ohne Geschichte (Knittelfeld – town without history) received the German Film Critics Prize for Best German Documentary.

After the screening, Gerhard Friedl will discuss his film and the processes of film production.
