The University Lowbrow Astronomers introduce and lead a post-film discussion of this 2011 award-winning documentary which chronicles the disappearance of darkness.

This 84-minute feature film follows filmmaker (and amateur astronomer) Ian Cheney, who moves to New York City from Maine and discovers urban skies almost completely devoid of stars. Posing a deceptively simple question, "What do we lose, when we lose the night?" he leads viewers on a quest to understand how light pollution is affecting people and the planet.
