This 19th century academic approach is an in-depth study of the human form, with an emphasis on establishing a likeness and an accurate lay-in of flesh while carefully observing the shape and value gradations. This class is designed to give artists of all levels a strategy in drawing and painting from life that is both artistically beautiful and accurate. These models will primarily be nude figures in relatively simple set-ups to facilitate extended length poses. The individual needs of each student are addressed, and there will be lectures and demonstrations with and without the model. Classes are also open to students developing their portfolio for art schools. Students under 18 must have consent of parent or guardian to take this class.
