Fifth Third Bank (South Florida) has partnered with The Education Foundation of Collier County to collect school supplies for the bank’s fourth annual “Back to School” Supply Drive. From July 9 to August 1, donations will be accepted at all Fifth Third financial centers in Collier County.

“With this drive, we’re striving to help children and families by providing them with the tools for success,” said David Call, president and CEO of Fifth Third Bank (South Florida). “We encourage the public to support our children, teachers and schools by donating at any local Fifth Third branch.”

According to Collier County Public School’s website, 62 percent of students – or 26,586 children – are “economically needy.” In nearly every school in the county, at least 25 percent of their students qualify for free and reduced priced lunch – and, in approximately 20 schools, more than 75 percent of students receive food through the program.

“We are grateful to Fifth Third Bank for its commitment and dedication to helping Collier County students go back to school well-prepared,” said Susan McManus, president of The Education Foundation of Collier County. “Together, we can provide an environment where all children can maximize their learning opportunities.”

The most urgently needed items include: glue sticks, crayons, index cards, pens, pencils, pink erasers, paper (both lined and plain printer paper), two-pocket folders, dry erase markers, spiral notebooks, binders and rulers.
