As the season wound down, the path that the Oregon Ducks and Kansas State Wildcats had to the national title game was clear. Win out and they'd both get their shot at the BCS title game. But on the same night, the Wildcats and Ducks saw those hopes fade away with upset losses that eliminated them from that chance.

Instead, the two teams will meet this BCS bowl season in the Fiesta Bowl in a matchup that promises to be one of the more entertaining games of the bowl season as the two explosive offenses square off in Glendale on Jan. 3.

Kansas State is led by Heisman Trophy finalist quarterback Collin Klein, who accounted for 37 touchdowns on the season, which included 22 on the ground. Klein was at the helm of an offense that ranked ninth in the nation in points scored per game.

On the opposite sideline will be the vaunted Oregon offense, an attack that has risen to the top of the nation in the last few years to give the Ducks one of the most dangerous and entertaining teams across the country. Freshman quarterback Marcus Mariota helmed the attack proficiently, passing for 30 touchdowns in his first season behind center.
