Zoe Vandermeer - guest artist

Zoe Vandermeer is a prize-winning graduate of the Royal Scottish
Academy of Music and Drama. She was winner of the Bay Area Vocal Arts Competition, recipient of the Emerging Artists Fund, and finalist in the London Young Artists Early Music Competition. Her solo album Angel's Wine, the Songs of John Dowland, in which she accompanies her singing on baroque triple harp, won 2nd place for Best Classical Album by the Just Plain Folks International Music Organization in 2002. She has performed her one woman opera If Love Be the Food of Musick at Spain's International Festival de Deia, Glasgow International Early Music Festival, and others. Her orchestral work The Enchanted Nightingale was commissioned and premiered by the Contra Costa Chamber Orchestra, Oakland Symphony Chamber Chorus, Sonos Handbell Ensemble and herself as the coloratura soprano. Her work Zoe's Musical Fairy Tale, Upon A Time has been compared to Phantom of the Opera, Secret Garden, Into the Woods and Grimm's Fairy Tales. Zoe Vandermeer's albums have received airplay across The United
States and in Scotland.
Performances in 2009 include appearing at the Arabian Theatre in
Alabama as well as venues in Connecticut. Zoe Vandermeer teaches singing and piano in Connecticut and New York City, is the music director at St. John's Episcopal Church in New Milford, and is a member of the New York Singing Teachers Association. She spends her spare time with her two beautiful horses.
