What is Ferragosto, you ask?  Well, lend me your ears...The "ancients" celebrated the mid-summer and the end of hard labor in the fields during the month named for the emperor Augustus.  They called it "Feriae Augusti" and they partied with good food, wine, and old-fashioned Roman fun and high-jinx!  Today, all of Italy celebrates Ferragosto.

Little Italy's first Ferragosto is a time for everyone to be Italian - and while we plan a different theme for every Ferragosto event, this year we celebrate by starting at the beginning...ancient Rome!  As "Roman Citizens for a Night"  you'll dine in style as San Diego's finest restaurants spread their wares!  You'll capture a great "seat" at the Roman Market!  You'll dance under the stars to "Anthology".  You'll mingle with old friends, make new ones, and rub elbows with a few of ancient Rome's most famous and infamous characters.

"When in Rome" is a night of excitement and fun and a great chance to support a worthy cause.  Proceeds will provide scholarships, and support school programs and the historical preservation of Little Italy.

The fun begins at 6:00PM and won't let up until Midnight!  Come celebrate Ferragosto with us!
