My Big Fat Greek Wedding meets Sex and the City -- with a masala twist!
June 2-12 at Canadian Stage Berkeley Street Theatre
Due to popular demand, FenStar Productions presents the return of the hilarious romantic comedy 30 Dates, in celebration of the second anniversary of its debut. Written by and starring Toronto's Fenulla Jiwani, 30 Dates takes us uproariously through the trials and tribulations of finding the perfect match and opens June 2 through to June 12 at Canadian Stage Company's Berkeley Street Theatre Upstairs.
30 Dates explores what can happen when family pressure, a ticking biological clock, and modern technology all collide at the same time. In this witty and heartwarming story, we are in the dating trenches with Priti, a woman on a quest to find her "one true love." She is hitting 35, her parents want her married and her internal clock is ticking loud and clear. Desperate to avoid an arranged marriage and afraid of being alone, Priti is on a race to find the most suitable husband. And so she goes on 30 dates.
30 Dates premiered in Toronto in June, 2008 in the Distillery District, and then went on to play sold out houses at Mississauga's Living Arts Centre Toronto's WinterCity Festival, Factory Studio Theatre, Vancouver's Granville Island Stage Theatre, London, Ontario’s Wolf Performance Hall and Montreal's Centaur Theatre. Don’t miss it!
