For its U.S. premiere, Christian Fennesz and Ryuichi Sakamoto will perform from their 2007 album, Cendre. This live collaboration creates a new synergy between acoustic piano and electronic and electric guitar music. Fennesz' sensitive, ambient soundscapes balance and manipulate Sakamoto's elegant piano phrasing, creating vivid dialogues between melody and texture, exploring the idea of electronic music as an inspiration for new musical structures.
