The feminist book club debates books and serves as a venue for the discussion of feminism rather than a forum for affirming any predetermined feminist platform. We make no claim about what feminism is or whom it serves, rather we rely on feminism (feminisms) as a lens for examination. We read theoretical texts, literature and review primary works. We also watch movies and discuss them in tandem with readings. The book club is open to everyone, and welcomes people of all genders, political persuasions and levels of familiarity with feminism. We (usually) meet on the first Sunday of every month at Bluestockings, but are meeting on the second Sunday in July!. Books are chosen by consensus. The July reading is "Communion: The Female Search for Love" by Bell Hooks.
