Fatherhood: A Mystic Journey w/Mike Robbins on Father's Day June 17, 2012

Author Mike Robbins makes a return visit to Unity in Marin to discuss the spiritual significance of fatherhood (on Father's Day, June 17th). His talk focuses on making peace with our own fathers, appreciating them, and also honoring the fathers within us and around us. Mike, the father of two young girls himself, shares some of the lessons he learned from his own late father, from his journey of fathering his girls, and from the principles he teaches in his books and workshops. This heartwarming and down to earth talk will be a great way to start your Father's Day!

Please join us for our Mystics Among Us series as we explore what mysticism means and how to live more deeply into the Truth of who we are.
We are especially blessed to have four 'Living Mystics' join us this month. Terry Cole Whittaker will be at UIM on Sunday afternoon, June 10 to discuss our mission in life, which is to learn tried and true knowledge of how life works, discover who we are as spiritual beings, and figure out where we fit in relationship to God. On Thursday evenings, June 7, 14, & 28 we are joined by Peter Russell, Peter Brown, and Jon Bernie sitting satsang, which is a Sanskrit word that simply means "being with the truth." Truth is what is real, what exists. Whenever something increases our experience of Truth, it opens our Heart and quiets our mind. Conversely, whenever something, such as fear, or judgment, limits or narrows our experience of Truth, the Heart contracts and the mind gets busier. We are all equally endowed with the capacity to discriminate and experience Truth. Thus, the true teacher, or satguru, is within each of us, and satsang, or being with the Truth, is endless.
