Highly-regarded Boston artist Farnaz Mobayyen will exhibit a select assortment of her abstract paintings in Boston. Some of her canvases are in oil and some are in acrylic. In this show, “Journey”, Ms. Mobayyen exhibits two series of her works that are abstract in style but distinctive in elements. In one series, she uses the Persian alphabet as the main element in her paintings. Their shapes, especially arches and curves, give her the opportunity to explore them and create flow and movement throughout her work. In her second series, circles and arches are the dominant shape in her paintings. The non-edginess of the circle shape has a symbolic meaning to her. Its roundness, its curviness, and the rhythms created by several circles and arches help her bring the spiritual world inside her easier to the canvas. The opening reception is from 5:00pm to 7:30pm on April 30.
