Join us for Family Day highlighting Native and African American identity. African Americans and Native Americans have had a long interconnected history since the first Africans arrived in America. Until recently, not many people knew this history.

Drop in to the Education Center from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM to make a beaded bracelet inspired by designs from the Masai people of Kenya and the Navajo people of Arizona. Stop the Heritage Center for a cup of tea and listen to Pueblo Indian children’s stories read by a MoAD storyteller. Finally, come to the 2nd Floor Salon at 4:00 to see the film, American Red and Black: Stories of Afro-Native Identity.

FREE with Museum Admission.
