Family Day at the Beall Center

Scheduled events include hands on art and science activities, art and technology demonstrations, videos, and more. Don’t miss our guest presenters: Robert Schureman, of the Art Center College of Design, leading workshops on 3-D modeling & precision laser cutting; Simone Chapman of SC Communications, offering workshops on digital design; and the Beall’s infamous guest, the “Optricks Apprentice” from the Optics Institute of SoCal, featuring lasers and optics to make science & technology fun and exciting for children of all ages.

Family Day is held in conjunction with the Beall Center’s current exhibit…

CONSTANT WORLD: THE WORK OF JENNIFER AND KEVIN McCOY
Known for their intricate and intimate dioramas featuring small spy cameras that project scenes onto walls, monitors, or screens, Jennifer and Kevin McCoy explore a wide range of topics, from the personal to the political. The exhibition demonstrates their continuing interest in sculpture, cinema and technology, and features the U.S. premiere of Constant World, a major work commissioned by the British Film Institute, as well as a survey of recent works.

The Beall Center is located at UC Irvine, 712 Arts Plaza, and is free and open to the public.

Parking is $7.00 at the UC Irvine Student Parking Structure at the corners of Campus, West Peltason, and Pereira.
