Fairfax Symphony Orchestra: Ji-Yong, piano March 17, 2007

American composer Joan Tower will introduce and guest conduct her recent work Made in America, which was commissioned in a joint project of American Symphony Orchestra League and Meet the Composer, Inc., funded by a grant from Ford Motor Company Fund. Continuing its long-standing tradition of finding and presenting the superstars of tomorrow, FSO proudly presents the return of the dazzling young Korean-American pianist Ji-Yong. Having amazed local musicians with his superb Mozart in 2004, Ji-Yong will play Beethoven's dramatic Concerto No. 3 in C Minor. Dvorak's "New World" Symphony is surely one of the most beloved works in the repertoire, a feast of emotive melodies and fiery climaxes.
