Take a glimpse inside Marjorie Merriweather Post’s closets at a display of her dresses, jewelry, and accessories from the 1950s. In a lively lecture at 2:00 pm, Howard Kurtz, assistant curator of costumes and textiles, discusses the two distinctive dress styles of the 1950s: the narrow skirted sheath and the fitted bodice with full skirt popularized by Christian Dior. Afterwards, peek into Mrs. Post’s closets for a closer look at these fabulous fashions. Tours of the Mansion, café dining, and shopping are also part of this special Sunday opening.

$12 for adults; $10 for visitors 65 and older; $7 for full-time college students; $5 for visitors age 6 to 18. Estate donation waived for visitors under age 6.
