“Exquisite Corpse” gives artists and viewers alike the opportunity to interact and contribute to the collective collage of visuals and language that range from the absurd to the profound. Based on an early 20th century parlor game in which several players would write a phrase on a sheet of paper, fold it to conceal part of it, and pass it on to the next player; it was adopted by the Surrealist movement as a technique for exploiting the mystique of accidents. “Exquisite Corpse” was the perfect foil for Art Jam participants to put their collective talents together! Artists include: Alice Dockter, Andrew “Fitz” Fitzpatrick, Marc Ribaud, Jan Erion, Pons Maar, Mark P. Fisher, d’Arci Bruno, Tonya Marie, Dave Teare….and more!

Art Jams mix art making with cool music, drinks, snacks and unfettered conversation. Every Wednesday night from 6-10pm, Jammers gather together in RCW’s beautiful K Gallery to eat, drink and be ARTY! Hostess with the mostest, d’Arci Bruno, provides a friendly and kooky setting that invites everyone to explore their creative potential. No art experience necessary! Participants just bring something to share (drinks, snacks, music, art supplies) a project to work on, or simply show up…the rest is magic.

The Mission of Rhythmix Cultural Works is to bring people together through culture and the arts. The exhibitions shown in K GALLERY are constantly evolving to reflect the vitality of the Bay Area cultural arts community.

Gallery hours: Wednesday 3-9pm, Thursday & Friday 3-6pm
2nd Fridays 3-9pm for Estuary Art Attack and by appointment: 510.865.5060
