Expressive Music Therapy September 8, 2011

The Cancer Center at Chandler regional Medical Center will provide cancer patients and co-survivors with music therapy, journaling, therapeutic movement and therapeutic art with the following goals/expected outcomes:

Decrease anxiety, stress and pain. Increase positive mood, body awareness, and emotional health. Increase physical and emotional strength. Build social network for support and facilitate the mind and body connection.

Expressive Music Therapy will offer a variety of activities including; listening to music, composing lyrics to reflect thoughts or feelings, developing a personal visualization tape or having the therapist sing or play songs of the patients choice. The music instruments and equipment will be provided at no fee.
