From January through March, Exploratorium Explainers will be popping up with cool demonstrations in neighborhoods and key locations throughout San Francisco, such as Union Square, Ghirardelli Square, and Aquatic Park, bringing the Exploratorium’s signature blend of fun, science and participation to passers-by!

Donning bright orange vests just as they do at the museum, Exploratorium Explainers will help people trace shadows, observe clouds, or offer up a quick lesson on perception by performing magic tricks. These activities are designed to make people notice and engage with the world around them, and see the everyday world in a whole new way.

True to the nature of all pop up activities, the times and locations will remain fluid, and Explainers will tweet their locations each week at http://twitter.com/theexplainers. In January locations will vary throughout San Francisco. In February and March, the Explainers will spend most of their time along the Embarcadero and in front of Pier 15, the Exploratorium’s future home.
