Galeria’s upcoming exhibition will open the gallery doors to New York cultural center, Exit Art. Our main gallery will include two exhibitions, which will collectively honor Exit Art’s continuous support of engaging experimental and historic art productions.

The first exhibition, Jumping the Fences, will feature a series of performance-based photographs by acclaimed New York based interdisciplinary artist and co-founder of Exit Art, Papo Colo. The series documents the artist in the action of jumping fences in different locations around New York City and abroad. Jumping The Fences was developed over a period of 13 months from December 2006 to December 2007 with the artistic drive to transgress limitations in all areas physical and intellectual.

The second exhibition, Renegades: 25 Years of Performance at Exit Art, will present over three hours of videos that will be displayed on three screens. As a visual reminder of the seminal place held by Exit Art in the world of performance, this exhibit boldly celebrates Exit Art’s long-standing history as a contemporary space for alternative, political and groundbreaking performance art.

Founded in 1982 by Directors Jeanette Ingberman and Papo Colo, Exit Art is a nonprofit cultural center in New York City with the mission to explore the rich diversity of voices and cultures that continually shape contemporary art and ideas in America. Since its founding, Exit Art has grown from a pioneering alternative art space into a model artistic center for the 21st century committed to supporting artists whose quality of work reflects the transformations of our culture. Exit Art is internationally recognized for its unmatched spirit of inventiveness and consistent ability to anticipate the newest trends in the culture.
