?Picture Perfect: The Early Archaeologist and Tourist in Egypt? features a mix of scholarly publications and travelogues documenting tourism and archaeology in Egypt from the mid-19th century to the 1920s. Filled with vivid descriptions and photographs of archaeological sites, these books helped to shape the popular conception of Egypt as a magical desert land of timeless ruins. The exhibition runs from December 4, 2005 through March 15, 2006.
