In 1921 Paul Klee joined the teaching staff of the Bauhaus in Weimar, Germany. There he developed lecture notes that would form the foundation of his teaching methods. These notes were edited and published in 1925 as the Pedagogical Sketchbook. Still in print today, Klee's theoretical and artistic investigations have inspired generations of artists, and his pedagogy has influenced how art is taught around the world. Spanning the artist's entire career, this group of drawings, prints, and paintings illustrate his use of pictorial elements to explore both the practice of art and the theory behind it.
