Exhibition of Nano Paintings by Natu Mistry, AhmedabadNatubhai Mistry (B: 1933) is a senior professional artist from Gujarat. In his long art career, he has experimented in mediums, materials, sizes and styles. Basically being an academic painter, his work is subjective and socially related. His black and white street drawings in panoramic view were notable and very well appreciated, as were his canvas street landscapes in dropping style in oil. He has done Fine Arts from J.J. School of Art with first class first. He was principal of the School of Drawing and Design in Ahmedabad and also worked as cartoonist for leading newspaper Gujarat Samachar.His painting was selected for Parliament House, New Delhi in 2001 and for Auction at London in 2003. Today there are several awards to his credit. He has written and published 26 books on Art and Drawing. Also he has done several solo shows and participated in many group shows. He has participated in several workshops held in many countries all over the world.In this new series he has used wood skin which is a new for the medium. In interior decoration wood skin is used to figure wood-Board. But in these Nano works, the artist has used wood skin as a base of the painting and the use of acrylic colour is so transparent that the nature of wood and the layer of colours are mixes with each other.Totally, 50 paintings will be on display. The medium is Acrylic and base is wood skin. Subjects are Women, Mountain, Puppet, Rural Life, Krishan, Sadhus, Rajasthani man and many more.
