An exhibition of work by Carleton art department faculty emeritus will open on Monday, September 12, in Carleton?s Boliou Hall Art Gallery. A reception for the exhibition will take place on Friday, September 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. as part of the annual Northfield Art Crawl.

The exhibition is one of Carleton?s contributions to the Northfield?s Sesquicentennial celebration and was coordinated with a related art exhibition at the Northfield Arts Guild Gallery. Carleton?s exhibition features the work of Dale Haworth, Ray Jacobson and Tim Lloyd, professors emeriti of art.

Haworth, who taught art and was director of exhibition from 1960 to 1996, is represented by drawings inspired by or executed during his travels, which include some of the many off-campus study programs he led during his tenure at Carleton.

Jacobson taught art sculpture from 1955 to 1986. He will present maquettes and photographs of some of his large modernist sculptural works, as well as a few larger finished works.

Lloyd, who taught ceramics and metals from 1964 to 2004, will show samples of his fine metal work, including some hammered vessel forms.

The exhibition will run from September 12 through October 15 and is sponsored by Carleton?s art and art history department. The Carleton College Boliou Art Gallery is open daily. The hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 10 p.m. For more information or disability accommodations, call the Carleton art and art history department at (507) 646-4341.
