A traveling exhibit on the Jamestown Bridge Demolition, The Jamestown Bridge, 1940-2007: Concept to Demolition, will be available after September 2, 2007 for installation. The exhibit is a joint project of the Jamestown Historical Society (JHS) and PAL in collaboration with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT), and the Rhode Island Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission (RIHPHC). The exhibit was developed by PAL, under contract to Gordon R. Archibald, Engineers, Inc., and designed by LLAMAproduct. FHWA and RIDOT sponsored the exhibit to ensure that the general public is provided with access to information about this important historical resource.

Interpretive Content
The Jamestown Bridge spanned Narraganset Bay between Jamestown and North Kingstown, Rhode Island from 1940 to 2007. The exhibit chronicles the demise and removal of this Narragansett Bay icon through narrative and dramatic, high-quality photographs taken by Matt Kierstead and Alyssa Wood of PAL and Rob Brewster of Warren Jagger Associates. The demolition process is interpreted in four themes: pre-demolition studies and documentation, demolition technology, recycling and reuse of debris, and changes in the Bay landscape. The history of the bridge from the North Kingstown perspective is also presented and the planning, construction, operation, and closure of the bridge are explained to provide a cohesive context for the demolition.
