Exclusive South Florida Showing of 2009 Sundance Film Festival selection, "Reporter." The film by executive producer Ben Affleck follows Nicholas Kristof, a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for the New York Times, as he visits war-torn Africa to investigate ravaged, poverty-stricken villages and interview a rebel African warlord in his jungle hideout. "Reporter" tackles the issues of modern journalism and the humanitarian and political crises in the Congo. The film reveals incites about Kristof and his methods and shows why real reporting is vital to our country’s democracy, our world-awareness and our capacity to be a force for good. A panel discussion with Nova Southeastern professors follows the film. For teens and adults.
