Update: A second session has been added to accommodate the waiting list and overflow for this session. You can stillregister here.
Why does MOSS get to have all the fun with Excel? Sure WSS doesn't have Excel Services, but there are still a few tricks we can pull to get some kind of working relationship between Excel and SharePoint.
In this live online, hands-on workshop, Laura Rogers and Mark Miller will show you techniques that might not be so obvious when first starting to use SharePoint with Excel.

The datasheet view is your friend
Query, chart, pivot, print directly from a SharePoint list
Use the Document Information Panel to manage metadata
Calculations done in the browser? You bet cha!
Cut and paste goes both ways
Use lookup lists to manage relational information
Multiple users update sales figures in a single, immediately accessible list
Import Excel sheets to create a custom list in SharePoint

This workshop is for beginning users of SharePoint who want to know what they can do to move their data from their desktop Excel files into collaboration based lists and libraries. It is also useful for Site Managers who need to support their End Users as the company moves from siloed, desktop data repositories into SharePoint.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This workshop is for users of WSS. There will be no discussion of Excel Services or any of the advanced features of Enterprise MOSS.
