Minneapolis-based rockers, Evik James Band, will be kicking off the 28th annual Saint Anthony Main Summer Music Series that runs June 4th through August 29th. Other notable artists performing during the
series include Tim Mahoney Band, Honeywagon, and Dazy Head Mazy. The free concerts are held on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7 to 10pm and on Sundays from 5 to 8pm in the Mississippi Riverfront District on the Courtyard Stage, at 219 SE Main Street.

EJB will be playing songs from their indie rock debut album, Under Your Sun. They will also be playing new songs including the title track from their forthcoming release, Sucks To Be You, often referred to as their “warm and fuzzy song,” due out in mid-June. According to James, both albums contain songs about “life, death, and the crazy stuff that happens in between,” including their new epic "I Wanna Be Like Jesse James", a 568-word song about wannabe American outlaws. James says, "every good story usually starts from someone making a bad decision and this song illustrates that point."

The Evik James Band is a “gritty power pop” rock trio, playing original music written mostly by the band’s namesake, lead vocalist and guitarist, Evik James, who is sometimes referred to as “Buddy Holly on steroids.” James grew up in San Francisco’s East Bay and is a graduate of the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California. Michael Fiato, bass and vocals, cut his teeth in the NYC music scene and has performed and recorded with notable groups such as the Silly Pillows and Bouva. Jeff Thaves, the trio’s drummer, is a Minnesota native and has played with a number of original and cover bands in and around the Twin Cities.
