WIN THE “LONER PIG” AT PCL’S EUCHRE TOURNAMENT

Find yourself a partner and come play the hottest card game in Indiana. The Pendleton Community Library, 595 East Water Street, will host a Euchre Tournament for frenzied card players on Saturday, June 2nd at 10:00 a.m. in the Community Room.

Proceeds from the tournament will be used to help the Friends of the Library raise money for the library’s future projects.

The cost of entry into the event is $10.00 per person or $20.00 per couple, and prizes will be given for first, second and third places. We will also award a “Loner Pig” at the end of the game. The library will place $10.00 in the pig at the beginning of the game. If you get a loner, you hold on to the pig until someone else gets a loner and steals it from you. If you get euchred, you will add a $1.00 to the pig. The last person holding the pig at the end of the tournament gets to keep it.

Bragging rights and door prizes will be awarded. The Friends of the Library will provide a light lunch buffet.

The deadline for the entry fee is Thursday, May 31st. Entry forms will be available at the library, or you may call Arlene Shannon, Program Specialist at (765) 778-7527.

FAQ’S

What is a “Progressive Tournament?”

There are several tables playing the game at the same time. Each player is partnered with every other player over the course of the day. After eight hands are played, everybody writes down the number of points that their team scored, then switches partners. Everybody adds up the number of points they scored throughout the day, and the three SINGLE PEOPLE with the most points win.
