From the technical complexities promoted by Stanley Hayter at the legendary Atelier 17, to contemporary grotesques, the ease and range of the etched line has persistently attracted adventurous artists. The exhibition will examine the fate of one of printmaking's core techniques over the last half century, as exercised by Jim Dine, Jasper Johns, Brice Marden, Louise Nevelson and many others.
