Ernie Halter is a soul-infused pop singer/songwriter, who has been influenced as much by Lennon and McCartney as he has by Otis Redding. Born in Inglewood, California and raised in Orange County, Halter grew up during a short but important technological era – “The Cassette Generation” – with a collection that included the Beatle’s Abbey Road, Billy Joel’s Glass Houses, and Elton John’s Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy.

Halter’s first self-produced album was a collection of songs recorded in his bathroom with, as he describes it, “one mic and one love”. The response for the record was tremendous, with people citing the laid back, raw, acoustic vibe as elements they loved. With his next album “Franklin and Vermont” – so named for the two cross-streets in his quiet neighbourhood back home – Halter looked to produce a studio record with the same soul. This record has the heartfelt arrangements and honest delivery of Halter's early material and chronicles the sometimes painful quest for love and the joy we feel when we finally find it.

Catalysing word of mouth in a digital age and making full use of the opportunities presented by the internet, Halter has built a fan base that includes almost half a million followers on Twitter and the number one spot on Amazon.com for a free mp3 sampler consisting exclusively of Halter’s music.
