"The bass baritone Eric Owens brought a burnished and powerful voice to his sensitive performance" (The New York Times)

Acclaimed for his commanding stage presence, expansive voice, and instinctive acting abilities, Eric Owens (bass) has carved a unique place in the contemporary opera world, both as a troubadour of new music and as a powerful interpreter of classic works. Owens has also shown increasing versatility in his performances, ranging from a debut with Lyric Opera of Chicago as General Leslie Groves - a role he originated - in John Adams' Doctor Atomic, to the monster in Elliot Goldenthal's opera "Grendel." Owens will perform at the American Philosophical Society on Tuesday, January 20 with pianist Bradley Moore.

Moore, who is currently an Assistant Conductor at the Metropolitan Opera, made his conducting debut in 2004 at Opera Colorade in Il barbiere di Siviglia. He has been increasingly in demand as a recital accompanist, particularly enjoying partnerships with Denyce Graves and Eric Cutler. Moore has also performed piano concertos with orchestras including the National Symphony Orchestra, the Buffalo Philharmonic, and the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.
