Join EPIC Roasthouse in celebrating the second annual Pinot Noir tasting and pig roast – High on the Hog – Saturday, July 17th from 1 to 4 p.m. Enjoy an al fresco afternoon on EPIC’s outdoor patio with great wine, delicious gourmet eats and live music, all while taking in panoramic views of the Bay, Bay Bridge, Treasure Island, and San Francisco skyline.
Co-Owner and Executive Chef Jan Birnbaum will prepare a mouth-watering menu featuring a Slow Roasted Fennel Porchetta – a savory, boneless, pork roast that is spitted and roasted over wood fire for several hours and the perfect pairing for Pinot Noir – along with a robust selection of accompaniments. Additionally, there will be several games for guests to participate in throughout the day including a Watermelon Eating contest and Horseshoe competition.
General admission is $95 per person and includes unlimited food and wine tastings from 1 to 4 p.m. New this year, VIP tickets can be purchased for $160 per person and include a private, hour-long reception and demonstration beginning at noon with Chef Jan Birnbaum on how to make his signature barbeque sauce. Each VIP guest will also receive a jar of Chef Jan’s homemade sauce, and a select bottle of Pinot Noir from one of the participating wineries as a take-away.

EPIC Wine Director Petra Polakovicova has created a fantastic line-up of award-winning wineries that will all be on hand to pour their Pinot Noirs, including: Claypool Cellars, Fogdog, Fort Ross Vineyards, Freeman Winery, Goldeneye Winery, Hartford Family Winery, Hirsh Vineyards, Pisoni Vineyards, Red Car, Roessler Cellars, Tailsman Cellars and Zepaltas Wines.
