Ensemble Galilei in First Person: Stories From the Edge of the World April 19, 2009

Mixing the colors and styles of early instruments with Celtic traditions, Ensemble Galilei is equally at home with Irish reels, medieval cantigas and English country dance tunes. Their latest collaboration, 'First Person: Stories from the Edge of the World,' was developed with NPR's Talk of the Nation host Neal Conan and the National Geographic Society. The performance features Ensemble Galilei's brilliant music, spectacular images and narrative of original texts from some of the world's great explorers, seamlessly interwoven to convey the intellectual, physical and spiritual challenges faced by these extraordinary men and women.
