Engendering the New - exhibition of photographs September 30, 2008

An exhibition of photographs set in rural areas, that depict women from various parts of the country making a difference. Women who battle social prejudices in the Manipur valley; women fighting for better working conditions in the salt pans of Kutch; eking out livelihoods vending fish in Srinagar; broadcasting nutrition tips to slum women in Chennai; operating computers in Andhra's tribal areas; or helping to build toilets for villagers as sarpanches in West Bengal.
