The LAB is proud to present Boston-based performance artist Paul William Waddell. Waddell’s work hinges on testing and experimenting with human identity. In Waddell’s performance at The LAB, he will demonstrate the malleability of identity by embodying a fantasy deity-like persona known as Sunny. For five hours each day during gallery hours, Waddell will build, create, and perform the persona of Sunny as a way of changing the dominant set of attributes that describe his identity. In the process, the gallery space will also be transformed into Sunny’s environment. A final, culminating performance will result on the evening of Saturday, July 29.
