End of Summer Salsa Sizzler with the Harrisburg Salsa & Rueda Casino Meetup!

Martin & I are back to organizing the Meetup and we’re ready to get the salsa craze moving forward!

Here’s what’s in store for all you fellow salseros and salseras:

The Harrisburg Salsa & Rueda Casino Meetup is excited to bring Manny, Ginny & Maria of the Guaguanco Dance Team to teach a great intermediate salsa class for you!

Under the direction of Pamela Villagra, the Guaguanco dance team has formed to be one of the leading dance groups in Berks County. The name 'Guaguanco' is a sub-genre of Cuban rumba, a complex rhythmic music and dance style. The Guaguanco Semi-Pro Team has six members: Manny Peguero, Alan Rivera, Javier Seguno, Maria Fernanda Santillan, Ginny Ysa and Pamela Villagra. Each member has brought their own style and flare to the dance team making it a cultural mix of rhythmic passions. The team performs all over Pennsylvania and participates hand-in-hand with the community to bring a greater awareness to the Latin community.

Manny, Ginny and Maria are members of the Guaguanco dance team and are dance instructors for Latin Legacy Dance. Each dancer has a love and passion, which is easily seen in their dancing and styling. Each instructor is available for group and private lessons. You’ll find Manny, Maria and Ginny every Thursday at Chill Lounge and on Sundays teaching for Latin Legacy Dance.

We request that you come early to register as the class will begin promptly at 8:15. As a courtesy to the instructor and other members taking the class, if you are more than 10 minutes late, we kindly request that you do not interrupt the class as it will hold back those already participating in the class. Please come early to register! Please indicate in the RSVP section of our website at www.harrisburgsalsa.com if you will be taking the intermediate class so we can plan accordingly. The class will be $10.00 per person. If you come early to take the intermediate class, the entrance fee will be waived.

We will also provide a beginner’s salsa class beginning at 8:15 p.m. off to the side during the intermediate class so our beginner’s can continue to practice their steps as well. There is no additional fee for the beginner’s class. It is included with the cover charge.

At 9:15 p.m. the floor opens up for dancing with music by DJ Vega!!!

You must be 21 to attend this event. This is a non-smoking event with a strict dress code. Absolutely no sneakers, no sunglasses, no hats, no flip flops and no work boots.

*There is a $5 cover charge for members who RSVP at www.harrisburgsalsa.com for the event and $7 for non-members and those members who do not RSVP on the Meetup site.
