EMU's Wind Symphony performs in concert, Dr. Mary Schneider, conducting, with guest faculty artist Julie Stone, flute. Featuring Michael Daugherty's Bells for Stokowski,and other works by Bach, Holst, Susato, Rodrigo and Toch.. Wind Symphony is a select group of 60-70 highly skilled musicians who perform the finest in wind literature. Membership in the group is obtained by audition during the first week of classes in both the Fall and Winter Semester. The Wind Symphony continues a tradition of wind groups that have earned accolades from such distinguished composers as Karel Husa, Vincent Persichetti, Anthony Iannaccone, Dan Welcher and John Corigliano.
