56 East Cross Street
Ypsilanti, Michigan

An Empty Bowls fundraiser will be held at Sidetrack Bar & Grill in Ypsilanti’s Depot Town on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 5 – 8 p.m. The annual fundraiser will be held on the Frenchie’s side of Sidetrack. Concordia University’s Artist in Residence coordinated the creation of the bowls that can be purchased. With a $10 donation individuals can get a bowl and soup with bread or crackers. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the SOS Community Services’ food pantry to help in their outreach to the community’s homeless population.

Concordia’s Artist in Residence assisted students, faculty, staff and friends of Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as they created the bowls during an event celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on January 19, 2009.
