Emanuel Harrold, native of St. Louis, MO., began pursuing drums at age fifteen. His professional career began at the age of seventeen playing with the Willie Akins Quartet. While in St. Louis, Harrold recorded drum tracks for Mel Bay Publication's educational books and DVD's on the styles of the music of greats like John Coltrane, Grant Green, and Charlie Parker. He has also done several off-broadway shows under the musical direction of Neal Tate for The St. Louis Black Repertory Theatre such as, Bubblin' Brown Suga, Late Great Ladies of Jazz and Blues starring Sandra Reeves-Philips, Damn Yankees, and Gospel at Colonus featuring actor Antonio Huggy Bear Fargus. In January 2004 Emanuel moved to New York to attend the New School University. Since relocating to New York, has worked with Rene Mc Klean, Bruce Barth, John Hicks, James Spaulding, Charles Mingus Dynasty Band, Don Braden, Frank Lacey, Danny Mixon, Patience Higgins, Bob Cunningham, Charles Davis, Mickey Bass and Kiani Zuani. Emanuel has studied with Jeff Watts, Carl Allen, Kenny Washington, Greg Hutcherson and currently studies with Billie Hart. He has also recorded live drums for Destiny's Child Half Time show for the Dallas Cowboy's game in November 2004. Emanuel Harrold Trio Featuring Marvin Horn performed for ABC Television Network at Time Square and features his trio featuring Chip Crawford & Eve Cornelius on the first and third Sundays Gospel Jazz brunch at Coplands in Harlem.
