Born in Buenos Aires in 1928, Emilia Gutierrez studied at the Fernando Fader School and at the workshop of Argentine artist Demetrio Urruchua. Although a member of the Grupo del Plata, she maintained her distance from the regular Argentine artistic circuits and is relatively unknown in her country. Since her death in 2003, her singular work has been the focus of renewed interest and re-evaluation. The exhibit is curated by Maria Teresa Constantin.
